Lunar New Year at Disneyland: Celebrate the Year of the Dragon

Disneyland Resort welcomes guests to its annual Lunar New Year celebration, a vibrant festival honoring Asian cultures with immersive entertainment, seasonal cuisine, and special activities for all ages. In 2024, the celebration takes place from January 23 through February 18.

Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession

Hurry Home—Lunar New Year Celebration
Before World of Color each evening, enjoy this six-minute pre-show featuring Mulan and her friends. The presentation highlights themes of family, friendship, and togetherness, creating a heartwarming start to the nighttime spectacular.

Kids’ Crafts and Activities
Young guests can participate in hands-on activities and seasonal crafts, typically located near the Paradise Garden Bandstand. These interactive experiences provide a fun, creative outlet for families visiting the park.

Lucky Wishes Wall
Continuing a beloved tradition, guests are invited to write down a wish or hope for the coming year and add it to the Lucky Wishes Wall, contributing to the festival’s festive and communal spirit.

Disney characters don colorful Lunar New Year attire throughout the event. In 2024, guests can expect appearances from classic favorites like Mickey and Minnie, as well as special characters such as Oswald and Ortencia from previous years.
