Kids Lightsaber Builds
For families looking for a budget-friendly Star Wars souvenir, Disneyland offers kid-friendly lightsaber building stations outside of the more immersive (and expensive) Savi’s Workshop. While the custom, metal-hilt lightsabers at Savi’s cost about $219.99 plus tax, there are simpler build-your-own options at the Star Trader gift shop in Tomorrowland and at the Star Wars Trading Post in Downtown Disney.
These stations allow kids to choose from a variety of plastic parts to assemble their own toy lightsaber. Prices are significantly lower, with single-blade builds starting around $29.99 and double-blade options closer to $44.99. The experience is straightforward: guests select pieces from bins and snap them together to create a personalized lightsaber to take home. While it doesn’t include the story-driven show element of Savi’s, the process is still interactive and fun, especially for younger guests.
These toy sabers are made of lightweight plastic and don’t offer the same level of detail or collectible value as the higher-end versions. However, they’re an excellent option for children who want to join in the excitement of lightsaber building without the high price tag. For many families, they strike the right balance between cost and fun, making them a practical alternative to the premium Savi’s Workshop experience.
