Build at Droid at the Droid Depot
The Droid Depot in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge gives guests the chance to build and customize their own remote-controlled droid. At the building station, you can choose from parts to create a BB-series, R-series, or C-series unit, then assemble it with help from Cast Members. The experience usually takes about 20–30 minutes from start to finish.
The cost is currently around $100 plus tax, which includes all the parts needed, a remote control, and a carrying box to take your droid home. Reservations are highly recommended and can be made through the Disneyland website or app. Keep in mind that missed reservations may still be charged, so plan ahead.
The activity is recommended for ages 3 and up. Younger kids may need help, but most families find it to be an accessible and fun experience. While Magic Key discounts don’t apply to the build itself, discounts can be used on accessories such as personality chips, sounds, or extra parts sold in the shop.
For families comparing Star Wars-themed “extras,” the Droid Depot sits between the budget-friendly toy lightsabers (around $30–$45 at Tomorrowland’s Star Trader or the Downtown Disney Trading Post) and the premium Savi’s Workshop lightsaber build ($219.99). At about $100, it offers a hands-on Star Wars experience at a mid-range price point.
